21C Cool

Just five short years ago, Bentonville, Arkansas, was best known as the home of Walmart Corporation’s world headquarters. Today, thanks to the addition of the gorgeous Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the 2013 opening of the design-centric 21C Museum Hotel, this Southern city has become an unexpected center of culture and design.

While the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art may get credit for brushing the first strokes on the city’s artsy backdrop — it’s the largest art museum to open in the United States in recent years — the 21C Museum Hotel was the next layer that began allowing the city’s image to take form.

The hotel was the third location to open in a series of properties owned by the 21C Museum Hotel group. The boutique hotel chain has become synonymous for style and urban renewal since it opened its first property in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2006. After a successful launch of its second property in Cincinnati, Ohio, the group decided to create their trifecta with a new branch in Bentonville, Arkansas.

“The enthusiasm our team has for 21c Bentonville is contagious,” said Karen Fuller, area director of sales and marketing for the 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville. “Each 21c is unique in its design and site-specific art installations, and each property has a unique, chef-driven restaurant, and our guests tell us they can see how much the team enjoys the role they play in making our guests happy and being a part of the 21c experience.”

The concept of the 21C Museum Hotels is incredibly innovative. The hotels act as a dedicated showcase for contemporary art of the 21st century and provide a creative and comfortable space for art lovers to cohabitate with beautiful “objects d’art.” The brand currently operates three hotels with this mantra and has hotels under construction in Durham, North Carolina; Lexington, Kentucky; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; as well as projects under development in Kansas City, Missouri, and Nashville, Tennessee.

With more than 12,000 feet of gallery and event space, the 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville is perfectly suited for hosting events and creative meetings that will leave a lasting impression for any fortunate attendees.
