INDIANA, Pa. — A new sports and meeting center that opened in March adjacent to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania is projected to have an annual economic impact of $12.5 million on the region.
The Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex includes a 4,000- to 5,000-seat multiuse arena/convocation center, a 17,000-square-foot conference center, a 6,000-square-foot training and executive meeting center, and a 650-seat auditorium.
For meetings and trade shows, the facility also has a lobby, breakout rooms and a commercial kitchen.
Although it is owned by the university, the facility will be managed and marketed by Global Spectrum. Among its services are in-house audio visual, inclusive of facility rental, and a fully equipped e-conference room with seating for 30. There are five hotels within a three-mile radius; one of them is next to the complex.
