Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa Unveils $26 Million Renovation

LA JOLLA, California — Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa, conveniently located in the seaside San Diego suburb of La Jolla, recently completed a $26 million, property-wide renovation that includes elevated guest rooms and suites, a new lobby and pool complex, and upgraded meeting and group spaces designed by EDG.

The award-winning Noble House Hotels and Resorts property, owned by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, debuted its renovation as the rancho-inspired property marks its 20th anniversary this year.

Estancia La Jolla offers nearly 47,000 square feet of customizable indoor and outdoor event space. Estancia completed a floor-to-ceiling renovation of its 6,864-square-foot La Jolla Ballroom, including textured wall treatments, modern lighting and whimsical flooring. The property also elevated its signature outdoor venue offerings with the revitalization of five existing lawn spaces and the addition of the 1,000-square-foot Mariposa Lawn, located next to the Learning Theater surrounded by botanicals and greenery.

Estancia La Jolla’s 210 redesigned guest rooms highlight the property’s rich equestrian heritage while featuring luxurious, modern accents. A color palette of earth tones and pops of color are complemented by rich wood furniture, finishes and textured fabrics.

Details such as custom wall coverings, wood dressers and leather-fronted bedside tables add to the tailored feeling of each room, while technology upgrades like wireless chargers and access to major streaming services further elevate the in-room experience. Each room also offers a view of the property’s botanical grounds, with select accommodations boasting spacious balconies.

Estancia La Jolla’s expanded and reconfigured lobby offers cozy fireplaces and an intimate outdoor patio complemented by the property’s lush landscaping. The lobby bar serves a selection of small plates and classic cocktails and will also host a regular happy hour and rotating Friday tasting events. The Trading Post Cafe highlights locally sourced ingredients, including honey from the on-property apiary, and through a curated selection of coffees, teas, breakfast items and bespoke gifts.

The Palma Bar and Grill is the hotel’s reimagined poolside oasis, featuring hacienda-inspired design with gentle earth tones and vibrant pops of color. Guests will find plush cabanas, complete with curated VIP packages, and a rotating calendar of events.
