DURANT, Oklahoma — The Grand Casino’s update began in January 2026 and will be completed in six phases with a target completion date of late spring. Updates include new carpet, walkways and lighting to give the casino a modern look. The update comes two years after the completion of the Grand Tower’s refresh, which included updates to all 329 guest rooms and 18 suites.
Event planners can choose from multiple versatile venues at the Durant property. The two largest venues are the conference center, which includes more than 100,000 square feet of premier event space, and the Grand Theater, a 25,000-square-foot multipurpose facility. The casino resort also features luxury rooms, as well as poolside and veranda event spaces. State-of-the-art audiovisual offerings and an on-site catering team are also available to bring planners’ visions to life.
During the refresh, guests will be directed to use different pathways to navigate the gaming floor. Games will also move throughout the process as different areas are being worked on, including table games shifting to the south side of the Grand Casino floor.
As each phase is completed, the Grand Casino will transition to a nonsmoking environment. The first remodeled phase reopened in February. Once all phases are complete, there will be 5,400 slots and 83 table games located in nonsmoking areas.
The Grand Casino is transitioning to a nonsmoking area to create a more welcoming environment, enhance air quality and improve comfort for guests and associates. The transition marks the casino as a leader among its peers with one of the largest nonsmoking casino floors in the U.S.
The conference center and the Choctaw Grand Theater are already nonsmoking areas. The Grand Casino’s transition to a nonsmoking environment will create nonsmoking areas around the conference center and Grand Theater, offering a more welcoming environment for guests attending meetings and concerts at Choctaw Casino & Resort-Durant.
Restaurants are nonsmoking environments, and as the Grand Casino transitions to a nonsmoking environment, bars located in the Grand Casino will become nonsmoking as well.
Once the Grand Casino refresh is complete, the Link Casino, located between the Grand Casino and Sky Casino near Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen + Bar, will remain a smoking area, as well as the outside veranda near the Choctaw Grand Theater. The Link Casino boasts 1,700 slots, 22 table games and a high-limit area.
