SMM Conference speaker to address hotel contract issues
Nathan J. Breen, a partner with the Chicago law firm Howe and Hutton, Ltd., has signed on to speak at the Small Market Meetings Conference in Jacksonville, Fla., Oct. 28-30. His talk will focus on how meeting planners should deal with common hotel contract issues.
Breen will illustrate ways to deal with attrition, cancellation, force majeure, indemnification and other issues specific to hotel contracts. Meeting planners will be able to apply this information to their own contract negotiations to strengthen their contracts and avoid potential pitfalls.
Breen’s law practice mainly focuses on association intellectual property and Internet law; however, he also maintains a practice in commercial litigation, contracts and hospitality law. He has served on the Professional Associations Committee of the Chicago Bar Association.
Currently, Breen teaches courses in hospitality law in the classroom and online as an adjunct professor at Chicago’s Lexington College and Kendall College.
