Tamarack Resort Named No.1 Resort in the West
DONNELLY, Idaho — Tamarack Resort in Donnelly, Idaho, has been named the No. 1 Resort in the West by Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2026, one of the travel industry’s most prestigious awards recognizing exceptional destinations around the globe. Selected by the readers of Travel + Leisure, the annual World’s Best Awards honor the hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, spas and travel experiences that leave the greatest impression on travelers.
For Tamarack Resort, the recognition marks a defining milestone as one of North America’s premier four-season destinations. The first-place award reflects the positive experiences of guests who have recognized Tamarack for its exceptional recreation, hospitality, dining, accommodations and year-round mountain lifestyle.
“To be recognized as the No. 1 Resort in the West by the readers of Travel + Leisure is an extraordinary honor,” said Scott Turlington, president of Tamarack Resort. “Awards like this are especially meaningful because they come directly from the people who have experienced Tamarack firsthand.”
The recognition follows a series of significant investments that have elevated nearly every aspect of the resort experience. Over the past several years, Tamarack has expanded The Village with new residences, restaurants and amenities; restored the award-winning Osprey Meadows Golf Course; opened a new 100-slip marina on Lake Cascade; enhanced its mountain recreation offerings; and continued to strengthen its reputation as America’s only ski, golf and lake resort.
The resort offers a variety of event venues and meeting space. The Arling Center is in the center of the resort, near lodging and activities. The complex boasts three buildings and a courtyard for meetings, presentations, and dinners. Interior rooms feature the latest technology.
The Lodge at Osprey Meadows is home to two venue options. The Fern and Feather is an indoor/outdoor venue located inside of the Lodge. The Lawn — available only during the summer — is behind the lodge, right on the Osprey Meadows Golf Course, and provides shade for an ideal outdoor venue.
At 6,700 feet, Mid-Mountain Lodge offers endless mountain views for dinners, galas, awards and more, with indoor and outdoor space available depending on the season.
Over the past several years, Tamarack has earned a growing list of national accolades recognizing its leadership as a four-season destination, including awards for Osprey Meadows Golf Course and recognition as one of the country’s top ski resorts.
Located 90 miles north of Boise, Idaho, the resort destination spans 4,400 acres. Within its master-planned community, Tamarack offers recreation, real estate, vacation rentals, event space and an alpine-style village. Winter features 2,800 vertical feet across 2,000 acres of skiable terrain. Summer amenities include championship golf, mountain biking, hiking, zip lining, boating and water sports on Lake Cascade.
