A growing Hispanic market

The number of Hispanic associations is increasing rapidly.
As professionals realize the growing importance of the Hispanic population, more are creating associations that focus on how to serve the market. Take for example, the Hispanic Contractors Association, one of Cardenas’ clients, which was founded about five years ago and now has more than a dozen regional chapters. Another is the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. Real estate professionals have realized that as the Hispanic populations grows so does its home-buying potential. Association members gather to share and learn about how to use shared culture to sell homes.

Association represents Hispanic meeting professionals
The International Association of Hispanic Meeting Professionals (IAHMP) was founded in 1995, and today has members throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Portugal. In the United States, its membership is divided into six regional organizations: West, Southwest, Southeast, Northeast, Midwest south and Midwest north. IAHMP expected some 350 of its members to attend its annual conference, this year held in early October in St. Augustine, Fla., the nation’s oldest Spanish settlement. IAHMP’s Certified Diversity Meeting Professional (CDMP) designation meets the needs of industry professionals who work and do business with people all over the world.
