What’s new:
Two guest-room wings will open in  August, part of a $24 million renovation. The lodge will also be reworked with a new lobby, prefunction space and an expanded gift shop and cafe. Audiovisual systems will be upgraded in the conference center. The recently renovated ski area will open in December with a new ski school and beginner slope, a tubing park and a wobble clay shooting range. In 2014, Corridor H, a four-lane highway, will make it easier to drive over the mountains to the resort.

Rooms: The resort has 150 guest rooms in its original, motel-style buildings. By August, 168 new guest rooms, many with balconies and mountain views, will open and the old guest room wings will be torn down. The resort also has 15 cabins and eight four-bedroom cottages.

Meeting space: 25,000 square feet of meeting space includes meeting rooms in the lodg and ski lodge and an outdoor pavilion. Internet access is complimentary.

Amenities: The resort has a dining room, a lounge, an 18-hole golf course, a ski area with downhill and cross country skiing, hiking trails, geocaching, paintball, a climbing tower and eurobungee, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, a chairlift, miniature golf, basketball, tennis, horseshoes, sand volleyball, soccer, softball, nature walks and hayrides.

Recognitions: Golf Digest gave the resort’s course a four-star rating.

Location: The resort is in the Allegheny Mountains of north central West Virginia and is three hours from Pittsburgh and Washington.
