What’s new: Dayton was recognized as a bronze-level bike friendly community by the League of American Bicyclists. Dayton is looking at additional ways to make its rivers more useable for kayakers, canoeing and fishing.
Rooms: There are more than 7,000 hotel rooms in Dayton and Montgomery County. Downtown, within walking distance of the convention center, there are two full-service hotels with 475 total rooms.
Location: Dayton is in Ohio’s Miami Valley, 45 miles northeast of Cincinnati. Columbus is 66 miles northeast, Indianapolis is 104 miles west, Cleveland is 178 miles northeast and Chicago is 233 miles northwest.
Getting there: Dayton is at the busy intersection of interstates 75 and 70. The Dayton International Airport is 9 miles north of the city and is served by nine airlines, including Air Tran Airways, American Airlines, Delta Airlines and US Airways.
