What’s new: The hotel doubled in size in 2008, becoming Delaware’s largest. At the same time, the casino was expanded, and restaurants and shops were added. Parlay betting was added in 2009, table games in 2010. Complimentary wireless Internet access was added in 2011. Segway tours on the Speedway began in 2011. In 2012, space overlooking the track will be renovated as rooms for midsize meetings, and the deli and buffet restaurants will be upgraded.
Rooms: 500 guest rooms and suites
Meeting space: 40,000 square feet of meeting space includes an 18,000-square-foot ballroom, six breakout rooms and prefunction areas in the Rollins Center; a 6,000-square-foot meeting space that overlooks the track, scheduled for completion early in 2012.
Amenities: A casino, a harness racetrack, a NASCAR racetrack, nine restaurants and a nightclub, a spa, a fitness center, an indoor pool, parlay sports betting, table games, a poker room and tax-free shopping. With the exception of 30 guest rooms and an outdoor patio, the whole place is nonsmoking.
Location: On U.S. Highway 13 in the geographic center of Delaware, two hours east of Baltimore and Washington and two hours southwest of northern New Jersey. It is one and a quarter hours from the Philadelphia International Airport.
