Kudos: The 1886 Crescent is a member of Historic Hotels of America.

What’s new: The installation of a new elevator is nearly complete at the Crescent. The elevator shaft was extended, so for the first time, the elevator will serve all floors.

Rooms: At the Crescent, 76 rooms, including suites and several two-bedroom cottages. At the Basin Park, 62 guest rooms, including suites.

Meeting spaces: Combined, the hotels have some 10,000 square feet of indoor meeting space in six rooms. Meeting and event spaces at the Crescent are the 2,950-square-foot Crystal Dining Room, the 1,313-square-foot Conservatory and the 900-square-foot Faculty Lounge. The Basin Park has a 2,400-square-foot ballroom, the 855-square-foot Atrium and the 1,700-square-foot Ozark Room.

Amenities: At the Crescent, guests can dine at the 1886 Steakhouse and at Dr. Baker’s Bistro and Sky Bar, which overlooks the mountains. The hotel is known for its Champagne Sunday Brunch in the Crystal Dining Room. Both hotels have full-service spas; the Crescent’s is the largest in the area. Guests at the Crescent also enjoy 15 acres of grounds and gardens, an outdoor pool and a hot tub. At the Basin Park, guests dine at the Balcony Bar and Restaurant, which overlooks downtown; the War Eagle Outpost, a coffee shop in a limestone cave; and Lucky 7 Rooftop Billiards, a sports bar.

Location: Eureka Springs is in northwest Arkansas, 45 minutes southwest of Branson, Mo., and an hour northeast of Fayetteville, Ark. Little Rock is 3.5 hours southeast, Kansas City, Mo., is four hours north, Dallas is five hours south and Memphis, Tenn., is 5.5 hours southeast.

Getting there: Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport is a 45-minute drive. In Bentonville, Ark., the airport has 40 daily departures, all jet. Flights are also available at Branson Airport, which currently has nonstop connections to seven hub cities. Southwest Airlines will begin service there in early March.
