What’s new: The 1915 hotel, closed in 2006,  reopened in late 2010 after  nearly $40 million in renovations. It is a Summit Hotel, part of the Preferred Hotels group. The Hotel Blackhawk and three other downtown meeting venues, all connected by skywalks, are marketed as the Quad Cities Event Center. The property is also a member of Historic Hotels of America.

Kudos: The Hotel Blackhawk was recently named a Preservation Success Story Award Honorable Mention winner by Historic Hotels of America. It will be featured in 36 Hours, 150 Weekends in the USA and Canada, published by the New York Times. A meetings industry publication has awarded the hotel its top ranking.

Guest rooms:
130 guest rooms, a number of which can be used as two-bedroom suites and have a parlor between bedrooms.

Meeting space:
10,000 square feet in six meeting rooms. The largest space is the 5,000-square-foot Gold Room.

Amenities:
American fare at Bix Bistro, casual dining at Beignet Done That, the full-service Spa Luce, an airport shuttle, a business center, a fitness center, an indoor heated pool, a bowling alley/martini bar and exclusive tee times at the private TPC Deere Run Country Club.
