Kudos: The AAA Four Diamond resort has been named to Condé Nast Traveler’s “Top 150 Resorts in the United States” and H Texas magazine’s “Best Spa Surprise.” The conference center meets the standards of the International Association of Conference Centers.
What’s new: La Torretta has added Lakeside, a fine-dining restaurant; two self-park lots; extensive landscaping; and permanent shade throughout its water park.
Rooms: The hotel tower has 307 suites. There are also 102 golf cottages and 36 lake villas.
Meeting space: The conference center has 73,000 square feet of meeting space. Its 19 meeting rooms include three ballrooms, several conference rooms and boardrooms and an 85-seat auditorium.
Amenities: Dining options include a new fine-dining restaurant, a full-service restaurant, a poolside bar and grill, a cafe for breakfast items and lunch, a piano bar, a golf lounge and a sushi bar. Guests can enjoy a three-and-a-half-acre water park, five lighted tennis courts, a miniature golf course, a 17,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, and a newly designed golf course.
Location: La Torretta is on Lake Conroe, about 50 miles north of Houston. It is a 48-mile drive from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
