What’s new: Early this year, the Mills House was the location for a live broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” Flat-screen televisions have been added in guest rooms; the kitchen has been renovated and upgraded; new catering menus focus on local products; and a new courtyard menu is available for groups of 30 or fewer.
Rooms: There are 214 guest rooms, including 16 suites. All rooms are decorated with period furnishings.
Meeting space: The hotel has almost 5,000 square feet of meeting space for groups of up to 350. Twelve meeting rooms include a 2,500-square-foot ballroom. A pool deck, a sun deck and two terraces are available for outdoor events. For larger functions, there’s 6,000 square feet of meeting space in historic Hibernian Hall next door. With its No Excuses Meetings Guarantee, the hotel promises to adjust a meeting’s bill if the hotel does not meet contract requirements.
Amenities: An outdoor pool, a business center, a fitness center, complimentary wireless access in guest rooms and Intercontinental Hotels Group’s Priority Rewards Meeting Planner Points.
Location: Charleston is on South Carolina’s southern coast. The historic downtown is about a 20-minute drive from Charleston International Airport in North Charleston, which offers more than 120 flights each day.
