What’s new: The Seneca Niagara Casino and Resort has redone its guest rooms and is updating its restaurants. Niagara Falls State Park is undergoing a $15 million renovation. Old Falls Street has been repaved and is often used for city and conference center events. Four hotels will soon break ground. The Crowne Plaza downtown two years ago became the Sheraton at the Falls. It is remodeling its lobby and updating guest and banquet rooms. The boutique Giacomo hotel opened in 2010.
Location: Niagara Falls is off I-190 on the U.S. side of the Niagara River. It is 25 miles northwest of Buffalo in western New York.
Rooms: There are more than 1,000 rooms within two blocks of the Conference and Event Center Niagara Falls and within walking distance of Niagara Falls State Park. Four new hotels will add an estimated 350 rooms.
Getting There: Niagara Falls International Airport is served by Spirit and Allegiant airlines. The larger Buffalo Niagara International Airport is a 30-minute drive.
