Amadeus reported fourth-quarter air bookings through its global distribution system were 71.7% of levels in Q4 2019. That figure is on par with the recovery rate Amadeus reported in Q3, according to a February 24 Business Travel News article.
For full-year 2022, Amadeus GDS air bookings were at 68.3% of 2019 levels, improving 92% year-over-year.
North America also surpassed Europe in 2022 as Amadeus’ largest region for bookings, with North America now accounting for nearly 31% of Amadeus’ total air bookings.
During the Q4 earnings call, Amadeus CEO Luis Maroto said 2022 was “a strong year” for the company. “We have seen substantial volume recovery, [and] we are optimistic about this year and beyond.”
The company reported that its air distribution revenue in 2022 was 73% of 2019 levels. During the year, revenue per booking also rose from 2019 levels, driven by an increase in airfares and a benefit from foreign exchange.
