Boutique hotel in the works for Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A five-story red-brick office building constructed 107 years ago as a Masonic Temple will next year become the Hotel Vandivort, the city’s first boutique hotel.
Workers began gutting the historic building this summer. Plans call for a 45-room to 50-room hotel with a 2,800-square-foot ballroom on its fourth floor.
The hotel will have two small, lobby-level meeting spaces. The lobby will function as a social area, with a bar, lounge and library. Developers are building the hotel to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver standards.
