NAPA, Calif. — Luxury bowling lanes, 165 guest rooms and suites, a 7,300-square-foot ballroom and an events piazza are among the additions unveiled at the Meritage Resort in mid-May.
The Napa Valley property spent 19 months and $40 million on an expansion that makes it an even more attractive meeting destination.
For example, although the resort already had the largest ballroom in the region, it added another to allow it to serve larger meetings as well as multiple groups.
The six-lane bowling alley, Crush Ultra Lounge, is another after-hours option at the resort, which already offers an underground tasting room, an underground luxury spa and a fine-dining restaurant.
Post-expansion, the resort has 322 guest rooms and more than 50,000 square feet of meeting space, which includes a 22,000-square-foot estate cave.
Meritage’s growth is typical of Napa, where, since 2002, 1,500 hotel rooms have been added. Another 1,100 are planned.
