ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Construction began July 10 on a meeting and conference facility that will be the largest of its kind in the Northeast, according to Caesars Entertainment. The $126 million conference center will be on the southwest corner of Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, which is owned by Caesars Entertainment.

Owners hope to bring more meetings business to Atlantic City, particularly mid-week.

“The development of this facility is a significant milestone in our efforts to collaborate with the state to reinvigorate Atlantic City and attract new segments of visitation to the market,” said Gary Loveman, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Caesars Entertainment.

The facility will have 125,00 square feet of meeting space, including two 50,000-square-foot ballrooms, each divisible into up to 27 separate breakout rooms. The center will also have additional breakout areas, grand promenades, banquet kitchens and support facilities. Caesars Entertainment hopes the venue will complement the Atlantic City Convention Center, which targets conventions and tradeshows.
