Caesars Entertainment Invests $22 Million for Expansion and Enhancements at Harrah’s Council Bluffs Hotel & Casino

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa— Caesars Entertainment will invest $22 million at Harrah’s Council Bluffs in Iowa to expand the casino gaming floor, remodel hotel rooms and introduce a new dining concept with acclaimed restaurant partner, Guy Fieri. The expansion will add new casino jobs and millions to local and state gaming tax revenues.

The $6 million gaming floor renovation will allow for 200 new slot machines and feature an enhanced sportsbook, creating a best-in-class wagering experience with a sports viewing and seating area.

Harrah’s hotel remodel project will begin in spring of 2024. The $12 million hotel renovation will offer upscale accommodations with fresh design elements featuring purple and blue hues that complement the dark wood accents and contemporary fixtures.

Opening May 2023, Guy Fieri’s Kitchen + Bar will feature an outdoor patio and will bring Fieri’s signature American-style cuisine and bold flavors to Iowa for the first time. The menu will include his Trash Can Nachos and a wide selection of signature sandwiches, burgers, and desserts.

In 2022, Harrah’s Council Bluffs, located on the banks of the Missouri River just across from Omaha, completed over $9 million in property investments, including exterior energy-efficient LED lighting, enhanced digital marquee and directional signage and improved landscaping design. In total, Caesars Entertainment will invest over $31 million in Harrah’s Council Bluffs in just three years.

“The enhancements at Harrah’s Council Bluffs further exhibit Caesars Entertainment’s commitment to gaming in the state of Iowa,” said Anthony Carano, president and COO of Caesars Entertainment. “We are dedicated to enhancing and upgrading our operations at all locations, and we’re excited to continue our investment in several new phases of renovation and expansion in Council Bluffs.”

“The growth of Harrah’s Council Bluffs will continue to allow us to bring the best in gaming and entertainment options to our guests,” said Thomas Roberts, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s and Horseshoe Council Bluffs. “We continue to invest in our Council Bluffs properties, and this growth will allow us to elevate ourselves as one of the best gaming destinations in Iowa.”
