HURON, Ohio— Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, Ohio, reopened in June after being closed for nearly three years for a multi-million-dollar renovation. The hotel, which Cedar Point bought in 2019, includes 35,000 square feet of flexible indoor event space.
The renovated resort includes 239 guest rooms, various flexible event spaces and new dining experiences, all featuring modern lodge-style decor with natural woodwork, stone finishings and nature-inspired artwork. Guests will also find indoor and outdoor pools, an 18-hole Tom Fazio-designed golf course and the Lake Erie marina. The resort property is surrounded by 200 acres of woodlands and is only a 10-minute drive from Cedar Point amusement park.
For meetings and events, Sawmill Creek offers a 16,000-square-foot flexible ballroom in addition to two floors of meeting rooms and banquet halls in the lodge featuring natural lighting. Outdoor event spaces include lawns and terraces, and the resort offers team-building experiences on the shores of Lake Erie.
The hotel is planning an official grand opening later this month.
