Cloudland at McLemore Resort Lookout Mountain, Curio Collection by Hilton Opens in North Georgia

MCLEAN, Virginia — The new Cloudland at McLemore Resort Lookout Mountain, Curio Collection by Hilton recently celebrated its grand opening. Perched atop Lookout Mountain, Cloudland is a 30-minute drive from Chattanooga and two hours from the Atlanta, Birmingham and Nashville metro areas, the resort’s opening marks a historic milestone for the area, as it is the first hotel built on Lookout Mountain since the Great Depression. Spearheaded by developer Scenic Land Co., with management under Valor Hospitality, Cloudland resides under the Curio Collection by Hilton umbrella.

Located on McLemore Resort, a master-planned mountaintop community, Cloudland features 245 guest rooms, including 19 suites, and 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space. In addition, guests will enjoy a range of dining options and leisure amenities. The property boasts three restaurants, a cafe and a sky bar suspended over the cliff edge overlooking McLemore Cove, all under the leadership of Executive Chef Dustin Willett.

Guests will also find a cliff-edge infinity pool, a fully equipped fitness facility with a Peloton spin studio and Selah, a full-service spa offering customized wellness add-ons, including yoga and cold therapy showers.

Golf enthusiasts will find two courses and the eagerly anticipated Keep, set to open later this year. The Highlands Course — designed by Rees Jones and Bill Bergin — is an 18-hole championship layout. The exhilarating 18th hole was recently recognized by Golf Digest as the best finishing hole built this century. The six-hole Cairn short course is perfect for those wanting to hone their games or enjoy a quick round.

The Keep, a second championship layout, has already been lauded by Forbes, GOLF magazine, Golf Pass and LINKS Magazine as one of 2024’s best new courses. With five cliffside holes overlooking McLemore Cove, the Keep will present golfers with sweeping vantage points on every hole.

“Today marks an incredible milestone for our team and our community,” said Duane Horton, president, Scenic Land Co. “Cloudland at McLemore Resort will serve our community, creating opportunities for our team to grow personally and professionally while serving business and leisure travelers.

“Our design and construction teams have brilliantly created a place that blends with the breathtaking landscape and spirit of Lookout Mountain, Northwest Georgia and the Tri-State Areas. Guests will enjoy an authentic, luxurious experience, utilizing McLemore Resort as a base camp to explore the many natural wonders of our area, including two national parks, state parks, scenic overlooks, majestic waterfalls, cliff-edge trails, ancient boulders, and the greatest botanical diversity in North America. We are blessed to have the opportunity to share such an amazing place for generations to come.”

Perched on a cliff edge, Cloudland embraces the beauty and heritage of its surroundings to showcase the property’s unique story. Guest rooms feature finishes like leather headboards, a custom-made desk and chair, and lounge chairs designed by Berman Falk. Rooms feature botanical photography from Kim Hubbard, a Chattanooga native and former National Geographic photographer.

Cloudland’s unique location provides ample access to the outdoors, both within the resort’s gates and beyond. Guests can enjoy scenic hikes, rock climbing, road cycling, hang gliding and more just minutes from Cloudland.

Cloudland at McLemore Resort Lookout Mountain, Curio Collection by Hilton is now part of Hilton Honors, the guest-loyalty program for Hilton’s 22 distinct hotel brands.
