Custer State Park Resort, a Treasure in the Black Hills

Modernity in the Woods

Despite the wild setting in the forest of the Black Hills, the Custer State Park Resort allows meeting planners the chance to enjoy all the modern amenities available in the most urban of meeting spaces. The resort offers Wi-Fi, cell service, wireless microphones and built-in sound systems. All events come with complimentary banquet service, including tables, chairs and linens. For an extra touch, the resort team offers packages for meetings such as the Compass Orienteering team-building program — just your team, a map and a compass — and the Geocaching Adventure program.

Playing in the Forest

Before, during and after events at Custer State Park Resort, meeting groups and event attendees can take advantage of the sprawling terrain both on- and off-site. The park is known internationally for its free-roaming wildlife, and many of the encouraged activities involve experiences with the fantastic spread of different animals, including the buffalo safari jeep tours, hayride and chuck-wagon cookouts, guided hiking trips, water sports, and horse trail rides. A favorite for most guests is fishing the creek where the White House staff famously stocked the waters every morning to give President Coolidge a running start with the fish back in 1927.
