HANOVER, N.H. — A portion of the Hanover Inn at Dartmouth reopened in June after the first phase of a $40 million renovation of the 108-room property was completed.

A full-service restaurant and 94 guest rooms reopened in time for June commencement at Dartmouth College, which owns the hotel. The phased opening will continue through the summer, building to a grand opening in November.

In addition to the guest room upgrade, the project is also addressing a longstanding need for modern, on-campus conference facilities at Dartmouth.

In August, the 1,761-square-foot Hayward Ballroom is expected to reopen; in November, the 3,933-square-foot Minary Conference Center, the remaining 14 guest rooms and a signature “farm-to-table” restaurant being designed by a Boston celebrity chef will be completed.

The inn overlooks the Dartmouth Green, and its location has been the site of lodging establishments since 1780.

It is a member of Historic Hotels of America and is operated by Sterling Hotels.
