The Group Travel Leader Going on Faith Select Traveler

Dayton Art Institute, a Venue of Ease and Beauty

Exclusive Extras

This exclusive institute is available to be rented out only by members of the DAI, but with every event, planners will have access to tables, up to 250 chairs, security and facility personnel, a podium, and an audio system. The events team will work to make sure any and all other needs are met by using their extensive list of recommended vendors or partners. Museum members that have earned either Jefferson Patterson Society or the Circle levels of Renaissance Corporate Society status will receive a 20 percent discount on rental fees. Note that for-profit corporations wanting to rent the space out for events or meetings must become annual corporate members.

Art Trek

The DAI brings art to life with its permanent displays and rotating exhibitions, but it also gives movement to the medium with its unique art adventures. The institute began a program called ArtTrek where groups can travel along with the DAI’s docents and guides to places like Columbus, California and China to explore an artsy destination with a fresh perspective. The trips all have an art focus and include exclusive tours, behind-the-scenes opportunities and time to explore and soak in the ambiance. The trips are great for small groups or anyone looking for a little adventure and inspiration.

In the Gallery

Before or after meetings and events, guests will have access to the museum’s more than 25,000 objects d’art. Groups can arrange docent-led tours based around a theme or opt for general overview tours instead. For guests wanting to go it alone, the museum offers a new program called What Is a Masterpiece? where individuals will be given an iPad from the museum loaded with easy-to-access information on 50 works of art, with more to be added soon. It only takes a quick scan of a QR, or Quick Response, code from the iPad and guests will have instant access to behind-the-scenes data and stories on each piece of artwork in the collection.

On-Site Activities

Along with a museum store and a restaurant (Leo Bistro), the institute also offers an entire program of scheduled activities and events in which meeting groups are welcome to participate while on the property. Past events have included concerts with local jazz artists and chamber orchestras, an annual black-tie Art Ball, lectures from nationally known artists, Vine and Canvas art-themed wine tastings, yoga sessions and more. The institute also offers seasonal activities, such as its famous Oktoberfest party.
