Dayton Convention Center to Get $31 Million Facelift

DAYTON, Ohio— The Dayton Convention Center in Dayton, Ohio, will soon undergo a $31 million, two-year renovation. Work is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, and the entire project is expected to take 24 months to complete.

The project will update both the exterior and interior of the nearly 50-year-old building and improve the facility’s infrastructure, such as refurbishing four escalators, replacing HVAC equipment and upgrading electrical, communications, data and audiovisual systems.

The convention center boasts 150,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 68,400-square-foot exhibit hall that can be divided and has a VIP lounge overlooking the column-free space. The main ballroom is 9,000 square feet, and the junior ballroom offers another 5,200 square feet. Meeting groups can also use the center’s 672-seat theater.

The convention center is located downtown, about 12 miles south of Dayton International Airport.

ASM Global took over management of the facility in 2021 and brought on Kelli Donahoe as DCC general manager in October 2021.
