From dining and after-hours options to meeting space and hotel accommodations, Winston-Salem offers new and vibrant experiences for meetings and corporate events throughout its downtown district.

A collection of lively independent restaurants dominate the city’s culinary scene, with personalities as distinct as their chefs and owners. And, when the sun goes down, Winston-Salem’s downtown comes alive with an array of eclectic entertainment options – from live entertainment and laid-back pubs to high-energy bars and a thriving arts district. It’s no surprise Forbes.com named Winston-Salem one of America’s best downtowns.

Located in the heart of downtown, the 100,000-square-foot Benton Convention Center is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation, which includes significant structural, design and technological upgrades to the interior and exterior of the building. The center remains operational throughout all phases of the project and is set for completion May 2017.

In April, Kimpton Hotels opened their first North Carolina property, The Kimpton Cardinal Hotel, in the historic R.J. Reynolds Building built in 1929, the prototype for the Empire State Building. This Art Deco gem boasts 174 guest rooms, including 15 suites; more than 6,300 square feet of meeting space with two ballrooms and several meeting rooms on the mezzanine level, and board rooms on the 20th floor; and a 120-seat restaurant and bar, just two blocks from the Benton Convention Center.

Also located in the heart of downtown is the 75-room Hotel Indigo, which is slated to open in fall 2017. The six-story, 49,000-square-foot historic hotel will include a variety of meeting rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center and two restaurants.

More than $1 billion has been invested in downtown development initiatives, including the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter(WFIQ), which offers Biotech Place Conference Center and its 7,500-square-foot atrium, 15 breakout rooms and a 120-seat auditorium. Upgrades have recently been completed at the Benton Convention Center Complex’s 315-room Downtown Marriott and 146-room Embassy Suites, which connect to the Benton Convention Center via two enclosed skyways.
