Fargo-Moorhead Heats Up

Space for Events

The Fargo Civic Center offers 34,000 square feet of total space. Its Centennial Hall has banquet seating for up to 1,700, and the facility’s civic arena has floor seating for 1,200. The lower level accommodates groups of 60 to 400.

At the Fargodome, 100,000 square feet of exhibit space is complemented by nine meeting rooms. It has capacities of 65 to 250 theater style or 24 to 160 in classroom mode.

There are five meeting rooms at Scheels Arena, ranging from 870 to 17,830 square feet. The facility features more than 63,000 square feet of exhibit space and can accommodate up to 6,000 guests.

Change-of-Pace Venues

The Bluestem Center for the Arts in Moorhead features outdoor stages and a 2,500-seat amphitheater. Along with performances and exhibitions, it offers meeting facilities varying from 300 to 3,000 square feet.

Aircraft including World War II fighters and a modern reconnaissance drone are on display at the Fargo Air Museum. Along with maintaining one of the Midwest’s largest aviation libraries, it also hosts meetings for up to 500 participants.

The Harry D. McGovern Alumni Center at North Dakota State University is available for use by outside groups. It has six meeting rooms and a brick patio that seats up to 140.

Distinctive Attractions

The Celebrity Walk of Fame is a walkway with more than 110 celebrity signatures, footprints and handprints. Well-known figures from Garth Brooks and Neil Diamond to Debbie Reynolds and Bill Gates have left their marks preserved in cement for all to enjoy.

An unusual attraction is the full-size replica of a Viking ship on display in Moorhead. Visitors can get an up-close look at the 76-foot craft built by a local resident and learn about its successful 1980s voyage across the Atlantic.

Another attraction, Bonanzaville USA, includes a pioneer prairie village and a museum with more than 400,000 artifacts.
