Graduate Princeton Accepting Reservations for August

NASHVILLE —Graduate Hotels’ newest addition in Princeton, New Jersey, is now accepting reservations for August 15 and beyond after pushing back the original opening date throughout the summer.

The 180-room hotel will be the 34th in the brand’s portfolio and will take collegial design cues from its Ivy League namesake. In the guest rooms, visitors will find Tiger touches, distinct Ivy style and nods to campus legends, such as headboards designed to resemble the 19th-century student canes that inspired the first cane spree, according to the Princeton Alumni Weekly. The property will also feature nearly 6,000 square feet of public space decorated in the brand’s signature maximalist style.

A focal point of the interior is the two-story library lounge, featuring floor-to-ceiling, dark wood bookcases lining the walls, punctuated by glass-framed Senior Jackets, while textiles deliver a bold palette of orange and black. In the center of the room, guests can gather at the 30-foot, custom-carved wooden communal table or relax in the surrounding leather Chesterfield couches.

“We’ve had our eyes on Princeton since the very beginning,” Ben Weprin, founder and CEO of Graduate Hotels, said in a statement when announcing the project. “This historic, idyllic town is the perfect backdrop for a Graduate. Our approach with this adaptive reuse project was to emulate as many of the original details as possible and pay homage to the incredible heritage of the place with interesting and subtle design details – like our custom lamps inspired by Revolutionary War era cannons that were found buried behind the University’s Nassau Hall. The walls of this building are bursting with history, and soon our guests will be able to experience that for themselves.”

Graduate Hotels operates 33 properties in college towns across the U.S. and in England, each embodying the school spirit of the hotel’s hometown university. Located on Nassau Street, Graduate Princeton sits directly across the historic Princeton University campus.
