Hilton Keeps Up Record Growth with Largest-Ever Development Pipeline

MCLEAN, Virginia — In addition to adding new brands to its portfolio, Hilton’s record growth is fueling the largest pipeline of new hotels in its history. With over 1.1 million hotel rooms, Hilton expects to see 5.5% to 6% growth in worldwide rooms, Forbes recently reported.

Hilton posted record-breaking results in fourth quarter 2023 and announced it had opened about 24,000 guest rooms in 132 hotels – more rooms than any other quarter in Hilton’s history. Additionally, Hilton hit another milestone, with its development pipeline the largest it’s ever been – nearly 3,300 hotels totaling more than 462,000 guest rooms. Hilton added 1,000 hotels to its pipeline in 2023, up 45% from 2002, and expanded its portfolio with two new brands to:  Spark by Hilton and LivSmart Studios by Hilton.

Hilton estimates that approximately 20% of all hotel rooms currently under construction globally are part of the Hilton family.

Hilton is targeting growth in emerging markets as well as those with strong domestic travel markets such as India, Japan and China. In the general Asia-Pacific region, more than three-quarters of travelers surveyed by Hilton are looking for regional destinations that help them better understand the area’s culture and heritage.

Hilton’s third-annual global survey used data from “more than 10,000 travelers from nine countries, online video diaries with 60 U.S. travelers” to delve deeper into what drives consumer decisions.
