Hotel Bardo Opens in Savannah’s Historic Forsyth Park

NEW YORK — New York City-based real estate development firm Left Lane recently opened its flagship hotel, Hotel Bardo, in Savannah, Georgia’s historic Forsyth Park. The luxury property sits on two acres in the heart of the Victorian District.

Left Lane bought the Mansion on Forsyth Park in 2022 for $52.5 million from hotelier Richard Kessler of the Kessler Collection. The mansion-turned-hotel opened in 2005 with 126 guest rooms and suites, along with restaurants and a mixology lounge.

Soon after buying the property, Left Lane began a phased, multimillion-dollar renovation, expansion and luxury rebranding that would include a new restaurant concept housed inside the original 1888 mansion.

The new Hotel Bardo opened in February, welcoming guests to the refreshed and renovated luxury property. The hotel features 129 guest rooms and 20 suites, as well as Club Bardo, a members-only social club.

Groups will find elegant event spaces throughout the property, including the 3,500-square-foot Ballroom and the 2,500-square-foot Carriage House. The Courtyard offers 2,500 square feet of covered outdoor space for breezy receptions, and an event lawn is set between the Carriage House and Bar Bibi. Club Bardo is a formal-yet-playful venue above Saint Bibiana, with 5,245 square feet for up to 150 guests, who can enjoy views of Forsyth Park from the club terrace.

The urban resort’s marquee restaurant and cooking school, Saint Bibiana, is led by Executive Chef Derek Simcik. Bar Bibi is a Mediterranean-inspired pool bar, with tucked-away cabanas and shaded, al fresco dining, exclusive to resort guests and Club Bardo members. The Green Room lobby bar transitions from day to night with direct access to the Courtyard, offering a relaxing space to grab a coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening.

Guests can also take advantage of Saltgrass, the hotel’s holistic gym and wellness spa, and Shop Bardo, which features curated retail.
