CORONADO, California— The Hotel Del Coronado’s new Southpointe Event Center is the centerpiece of the historic Coronado Island resort’s $400 million master plan renovations.
The brand-new event center features a 15,130-square-foot, clear-span ballroom with approximately 10,000 square feet of pre-function and breakout meeting space.
The ballroom can be configured into 10 separate meeting spaces with French doors leading to outdoor balconies. The 2,660-square-foot upstairs mezzanine level offers additional breakout spaces.
The event center opens onto the 14,000-square-foot Southpointe Lawn, which is framed by a backdrop of the historic hotel.
The Del’s recent renovation also restored the main lobby to the Victorian era, preserving intricate original woodwork and adding a new crystal and hand-blown glass chandelier, as well as restoring the birdcage elevator and the original, 6-foot stained-glass Coronation Window.
The project also restored the original front porch, added a spa and salon, new shops and dining options, and updated guest rooms and suites. The new Shore House at The Del also offers a neighborhood of seaside villas with an oceanfront pool.
