Inaugural STS Meeting Guide Coming in February

Southern meeting destinations across more than a dozen states will be featured in a new collaborative project between Small Market Meetings and Southeast Tourism Society (STS).  The magazine’s February issue will showcase popular meeting sites and cities across the STS region, which includes members from 13 states and the District of Columbia.  The new meeting guide coincides with the 40-year anniversary of STS as a major travel marketing organization for the Southeast.

“The south is one of America’s most popular meeting regions and we’re pleased to be partnering with Small Market Meetings in this new marketing effort,” said Monica Smith, President and CEO of the Southeast Tourism Society.  “There are many small to medium-sized cities across our membership that offer excellent hotels, convention centers and event venues for meetings and events.  We’re excited to promote them in Small Market Meetings.”

Four primary areas of interest will be addressed in the planner:

  • What’s new across the Southeast in the way of convention centers and meeting venues
  • Historic hotels that accommodate delegations in the South
  • Mountain destinations that offer delegates spectacular outdoor settings
  • Small towns that offer distinctly different options from large cities

“We’re excited about this new partnership project with STS,” said publisher Mac Lacy.  “Monica and her staff are proactive in their promotion of these efforts and make great partners.  Together, we can expose thousands of qualified meeting planners to many new southern destinations for their clients.”
