VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has hired Jamie Mitchell and Rachel Weiss as sales managers. Mitchell will oversee religious, fraternal and sports associations, as well as Southern territories. Most recently, she worked in sales for the Chesapeake CVB.

Weiss will focus on military reunions and meetings under 50 rooms on peak nights. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in tourism from North Carolina State University.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Peabody Memphis filled three sales positions with the additions of Priscilla Dulaney as associate director of sales, and Donna Pope and Marshall Thompson as national sales managers. Dulaney will handle the Midwest and incentive markets. She was promoted from sales manager, a title she’s held since 2008.

Pope was appointed to the Washington, D.C., market. She was general manager at the Fairfield Inn and Suites and the Comfort Suites, both in Olive Branch, Miss. Thompson’s responsibilities include the Greater D.C., Maryland and Virginia areas. He most recently served as director of sales and marketing at the International Palms Resort and Conference Center in Orlando.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Mike Sophia has joined the Sacramento CVB as director of sports commission. Sophia has 20 years of management experience, including CEO of the National Senior Games.

ARLINGTON, Texas – Ronnie Price will replace Jay Burress as president of Experience Arlington. Burress, who had been chief since 2008, resigned in December to head the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau in Calif. Price has 16 years of hospitality leadership experience. Most recently, he worked as assistant executive director of sales and marketing for the San Antonio CVB.

AUSTIN, Texas – Scott Mason is the general manager of the Driskill Hotel. He was previously general manager for the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center in Colorado.

NAPA, Calif. – The Meritage Resort and Spa has named Mary Jo Baird as group sales manager. Baird will focus on markets in San Jose and Los Angeles, Calif.; Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.
