JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has hired Diane Gillespie as executive director. Gillespie has nearly 20 years of experience with the Springfield CVB, most recently as senior sales manager.
NAPLES, Fla. – The Inn on Fifth has promoted Evita Reyes to group sales manager. Reyes has worked at the Inn on Fifth for more than five years, most recently as revenue manager.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Kelly Carr has joined The Oncenter as general manager. Carr was previously director of sales and marketing for the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M.
HOUSTON, Texas – Benchmark Hospitality International, a hospitality management company, has appointed Colleen Pace as director of sales and marketing for Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, Colo. She had served as Benchmark Hospitality’s director of sales for the Vail Cascade Resort in Vail, Colo.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Gilbert Villard is convention sales manager for the Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB. Villard will oversee international group business, as well as the southern United States, including Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Florida. He previously worked as national sales manager for the Puerto Rico CVB.
DECATUR, Ala. – Melinda Dunn will replace Tami Reist as president and CEO of the Decatur-Morgan County CVB in 2013. Dunn previously served as historic resources and events coordinator for Decatur Parks and Recreation. Reist recently resigned to join the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association as president and CEO.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – The Huntington Beach Marketing and Visitors Bureau has selected John Ehlenfeldt as vice president of sales and marketing. Ehlenfeldt, a 15-year sales and marketing veteran, worked as sales manager for the Monterey County CVB.
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Toni Green is the new senior sales manager for the Greenville CVB. Green will focus on the religious, education and ethnic markets. She recently worked at the Greater Birmingham CVB as national sales manager.
COCOA BEACH, Fla. – Julie Korountchev is director of sales and marketing for the International Palms Resort and Conference Center Cocoa Beach. Korountchev has 24 years of hotel hospitality and sales industry experience, including her most recent position as area director of sales and marketing for the Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront in Melbourne, Fla.
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Hotel Vermont has hired Hans van Wees as general manager. The hotel will open spring 2013. Van Wees has held positions at hotels across New England, Europe and the Caribbean, such as general manager of the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vt.
