Left to right, Laura Schwartz, Nathan Breen and Jessica Shternshus

A trio of standout speakers

The Small Market Meetings Conference lineup of speakers is sure to stretch minds.

From Jessica Shternshus, attendees will learn to handle the unexpected with aplomb. Nathan Breen will explain how to see potential pitfalls in contracts. And, Laura Schwartz will nosh about networking at social events.

Shternshus is CEO of the Improv Effect, a Florida company that shows corporate clients how improv skills can help them think on their feet, communicate with others and solve problems. In her 45-minute presentation, meeting planners will experience first-hand how improv can be an asset in their worklife.

Breen, a partner in the Chicago law firm Howe and Hutton, doesn’t promise to make lawyers out of meeting planners. What he does do is help meeting planners identify problems with their contracts so they know when they should get more information or seek professional assistance.
From her years as director of events for the Clinton administration, Laura Schwartz saw firsthand the power that social events wield in politics and business.

Since then, she has written “Eat, Drink and Succeed: Climb Your Way to the Top Using the Networking Power of Social Events,” which, like her presentations, draws on her near-decade as a Washington insider.
