Kohler’s American Classic

Culinary

Aside from the nine restaurants, cafes, and food shops on-site at the American Club, the resort also has a full-time catering staff that creates locally sourced menus with an international flair. The team has a variety of menus from which to choose— spa breakfast buffet, Tuscan dinners, box lunches, game time snacks, build-your-own trail mix stations, artisanal Wisconsin dinners and more — but they will gladly work with planners to create custom menus that cater to groups’ specific tastes and needs. They even offer local wine and beer tastings, and alcohol is available for purchase on-site.

Resort Features

In keeping with the resort’s theme of hometown pride and love of country, each of the 240 rooms and suites at the American Club has been outfitted to honor famous Americans throughout history. The rooms feature the Kohler showering experience or whirlpool bath, and come standard with refreshment centers and wireless connectivity. Guests can choose from a wide variety of room options, including standard rooms with one king or two double beds, heritage rooms with one king or two queen beds, or one of the spacious suites at the main property or at the Carriage House. Adjoining rooms are available.

Around Town

Since the entire village of Kohler is a planned community, going “off property” doesn’t feel like much of a departure from the hotel. The whole area offers a communal sense of oneness, and any guests of the hotels are welcomed warmly. The village features four 18-hole championship golf courses, 10 restaurants and cafes, a wilderness preserve and more than 25 shops and boutiques. Favorite activities include wine-tasting trips to the Blind Horse Winery, farm visits to the Bulitz Farm and its petite petting zoo, and tours of the Kohler Design Center.

Sweet Treat

A little-known fact about the American Club is that aside from making meeting groups and guests happy while they are staying at this world-class resort, the resort also makes its own chocolates, which have become world renowned for their quality. Herb Kohler was inspired to offer his guests more than the run-of-the-mill turtle and tasked his chefs with creating a superior treat. Today, the American Club proudly offers its signature terrapins, chocolate bars, toffees, chocolates and caramels through its chocolate shop. Not only do the chocolates make great party favors and turn-down presents at the resort, but they are also available for purchase to enjoy the flavors of Kohler at home.

Extras

In addition to the resort’s traditional offerings — golf, spa, hunting, fishing, etc. — the events and meetings team developed summer and winter programs for guests to take part in while at the resort. Winter guests can try their hand at Bavarian curling and ice bowling from November through April in the Gazebo Courtyard located in the center courtyard gardens of the American Club, or they can take in the icy scene from behind a hot mug of tea at the adjacent Greenhouse coffee shop. In the spring and fall, guests of the American Club can experience a salmon run on a private eight-mile stretch of the Sheboygan River.
