Lincoln, Nebraska’s Exciting Changes (Sponsored)

Change is inevitable and Lincoln, Nebraska has some exciting changes that meetings and event planners should know about. New and renovated venues continue to popup, providing planners a variety of unique places to pick from.

The Kindler Hotel is Lincoln’s newest downtown hotel, located just one block from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln main campus. This independent boutique hotel opened in August 2019 as a marriage of two historic downtown buildings. The hotel features 49 sleeping rooms with high-end finishes throughout, providing optimal comfort to visitors. The lobby features the lavishly appointed ‘Boitano’s Lounge’ developed by world-renowned Olympic Skater and Food Network Star Brian Boitano. Not to be outdone by the beautiful aesthetics of the lounge, lobby and sleeping rooms is the historic ballroom at The Kindler. The classically elegant and airy design accommodates up to 180 guests who can marvel at the stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, original Art Deco moldings and many other architectural elements.

Over 100 years ago, the Scottish Rite opened its Masonic Center only a city block away from the Nebraska State Capitol. Over the last few years, this temple that “represents a distinctive architectural style” and is Lincoln’s best and most ornate Neo-Classical revival structure, has been opened as a meeting space with rooms hard to find anywhere else. Every meeting room has been restored to be reflective of the turn-of-the-century architecture. Planners can find numerous spaces that can be used including the ballroom, which can accommodate up to 300 people and up to 200 in the historic Lodge Room. The venue features a full kitchen and serving area, with room to stage an additional buffet area.

In addition to the older, historic buildings going through a rebirth, new unique venues open in Lincoln including Capital Cigar Lounge. This venue is a combination of event spaces, including a board room and lounge for a relaxed meeting setting that is open and inviting to both women and men. For those hesitant about the smell of cigar smoke, don’t be, as the venue has a state-of-the-art Trane HVAC system that ensures clean air is pumped in and existing air in the venue is filtered out.

Regardless of how often planners have hosted events in Lincoln, when they return, they’re surprised at all of the new and exciting changes Lincoln has to offer. Contact the Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau to have them assist you in finding the perfect venue.
