Home runs aren’t a rare occurrence at Haymarket Park in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Not only has this sports complex seen its fair share of base-running excitement as the home field for the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball and softball teams and the minor league Lincoln Saltdogs, but this winning complex also scores regularly for meetings and events.
Outfitted in a red brick and red-tone, split-face concrete block exterior, Haymarket Park embodies the history of Lincoln as well as the history of baseball. The park has become one of the biggest players in the events and meetings market in the Historic Haymarket District of Lincoln since it opened in 2001. The complex is located just west of Interstate 180 and Memorial Stadium and is connected via a pedestrian walkway to Haymarket, the new Railyard area, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.
The location of Haymarket Park is excellent when it comes to accommodating groups and events, with plenty of parking and a spectacular view of downtown Lincoln and Memorial Stadium. Great care was taken when designing this modern sports complex to make sure it embraces the time-honored traditions of baseball and the proud heritage that is the Haymarket District, for which it is named.
The complex has regularly played host to community fundraiser events, corporate functions, 5K runs and walks, and numerous concerts. Just about every area of Haymarket Park is available for rent, and the complex also boasts its own lineup of venues that are well suited for small meetings and events, from power meetings in the Diamond View Lounge to open-air events in the Haymarket Park Picnic Area and swanky after-hours cocktail parties on the Home Run Terrace.
Meeting Space
When either the Nebraska Cornhuskers or the Lincoln Saltdogs play at home, Haymarket Park operates as a state-of-the-art baseball facility. When the teams aren’t on the field, the ballpark’s iconic diamond acts as an amazing outdoor setting for events. Haymarket Park is available for rent year-round, and the park’s indoor venues give the place another way to shine when the weather isn’t cooperating on the field. Meeting spaces include the indoor Diamond View Lounge, which holds up to 100 people; the indoor Skybox Suites, which holds up to 50 people; the outdoor Home Run Terrace, which holds up to 200 people; and the Picnic and Concourse areas, for events for more than 1,000 people.
