While groups can opt for traditional ballpark fare during events or meetings, Haymarket Park employs a full-time chef who can cater to groups’ specific needs in the suites. Chef Chad Roza’s menu features regional and local favorites, but this creative chef is known for his ability to throw a few curveballs in his menus for adventurous groups looking for something a bit different. Planners can choose from feel-good appetizers, handcrafted sandwiches, fresh salads and themed menus. Favorites include the famous red hot dog served with baked beans, fried mac ’n’ cheese bites or slow-smoked brisket sandwiches served hot on a freshly baked onion roll. Alcohol is available for purchase through Haymarket Park concessionaire Professional Sports Catering.
Activities
During a baseball game, guests can walk around the entire ballpark on the “walking path” and never miss a play on the field; three laps around the ballpark equals one mile. The wide-open concourses allow for easy access to all areas of the ballpark, including concession stands, kids’ play areas and the restrooms. Haymarket Park also has two pedestrian bridges that connect the ballpark to the Haymarket and Railyard areas of downtown Lincoln. It’s in those areas that guests can find numerous dining and shopping options, like The Mill for locally roasted coffee and exotic teas, the Best of Big Red for game-day gear and the Ploughshare Brewing Co. for handcrafted beers.
Extras
If the meeting or event takes place at Haymarket Park during March through September, groups may, depending on their schedules, be able to take in a Huskers or Saltdogs baseball game. The opportunity to meet during a game is a great way to add a twist to a traditional business meeting, but everything from birthday parties en suite to corporate outings at the ballpark can be arranged. The event staff supplies all necessary accouterments for the meeting and sets up before guests arrive so as not to interrupt the game or event.
