STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — The Sheraton Steamboat Resort and Villas will add 56 luxury suites by this November, in time for the 2013-2014 ski season. The resort is Steamboat Springs’ only full-service ski-in/ski-out property.

Some $8.2 million is being spent to complete the existing guest rooms, originally intended to be Starwood Vacation Ownership units.

They will now become suites outfitted with such amenities as mini or full kitchens, a washer and dryer, bathrooms and flat-screen televisions. Many of the suites are designed as “lock-offs,” which allow guests the option to book lodging similar to a high-end, three-bedroom condominium but with the services and amenities of a hotel.

The addition of studio to three-bedroom units will give the resort 285 guest rooms.

The hotel is home to five restaurants, and its Rollingstone Ranch Golf Course is a championship Robert Trent Jones II-designed and Troon-managed course. The property’s 28,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space includes 17 meeting rooms.
