Where is Madison, Ind.?

Madison is on the Ohio River in southeast Indiana, 50 miles from Louisville, Ky., 70 miles from Cincinnati and 90 miles from Indianapolis.

How do we get there?
Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Louisville all have international airports. U.S. Highway 421 connects Madison with Interstate 74 to the north and Interstate 71 to the south. Madison’s airport can handle corporate jets.

Where can we meet?
There are seven hotels; most are small, limited-service. An exception is the Clifty Inn, a 71-room Arts and Crafts-style hotel that sits atop a bluff west of town that overlooks Madison and the river. Part of Clifty Falls State Park, the hotel has some 4,000 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom with river views. The 30-room Hillside Inn, perched on a bluff at the east end of Main Street, has meeting space for 45.

• Five miles west, meeting and event spaces are available at Hanover College, including a campus center dining hall  for 400 and a conference center for 75.

• Boardrooms and conference rooms are available in historic buildings, among them the Jefferson County Public Library, the Old Masonic Lodge and the Broadway Hotel and Tavern. Larger spaces include the Livery Stable for events of up to 400.

• Outdoor venues include shelters at the state park, the Broadway Fountain, Bicentennial Park, Madison’s riverfront and a bluff overlooking the river on the Hanover College campus.
