BRADENTON, Fla. – Formerly the Manatee Convention Center, the newly renovated Bradenton Area Convention Center opened its doors Sept. 12. The 18-month renovation upgraded the site aesthetically and functionally.

“I believe the industry and community will agree the end result was well worth the wait,” said Elliott Falcione, executive director of the Bradenton Area CVB. “This greatly improved facility will allow us to better compete for meetings business and will hopefully attract new interest in building a new convention hotel adjacent to the center.”

The center, built in 1983, had only had minor repairs until the recent overhaul. Meeting planners will have more options with 60,000 square feet of refurbished meeting space and new outdoor reception spaces.

Other renovations include new heating and cooling, energy-efficient lighting, flooring, paint and wall coverings. The center also rethought its exterior offerings with Florida native landscaping.
