SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas— Margaritaville Beach Resort South Padre Island recently opened, making it the first Texas beachfront resort in the Margaritaville portfolio. Located on South Padre Island, the resort offers all ocean-view rooms and condos, three dining options and meeting and conference space.
“We are thrilled to bring Margaritaville to the South Texas coast, allowing locals, guests and visitors alike to experience a one-of-a-kind oasis,” General Manager Rone Middler said.
Highline Hospitality Partners, the hospitality investment platform launched by Highline Real Estate Partners, invested more than $30 million to transform the former Pearl Hotel South Padre into a Margaritaville resort.
The resort can accommodate meetings, conferences and special events in its 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. At 3,460 square feet, Sand Dunes is the property’s largest ballroom and can be divided into four smaller rooms. The Blue Marlin ballroom delivers views of the beach – also available for events – and the Gulf of Mexico.
The resort’s 200 guest rooms and 50 beachfront condos – with one-, two- or three-bedroom configurations – all feature island-inspired design.
Dining options include three restaurants and bars. LandShark Bar & Grill offers indoor and outdoor patio seating overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, while the Salty Rim Bar & Grill is a swim-up bar serving signature cocktails and bar bites. Joe Merchant’s Coffee & Provisions is a grab-and-go destination for coffee drinks and quick bites.
The area’s largest hotel pool, heated year-round, is surrounded by private cabanas and a separate area for kids. Guests will also find nearby hammocks and fire pits for outdoor relaxation.
Adjacent to the resort, Sapphire Spa offers a variety of treatment options and a full hair and makeup salon, as well as a fully equipped fitness center.
The resort’s beachside activities include windsurfing, banana boat rides, parasailing, offshore fishing, dolphin watching and wave runner rentals.
