Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa Completes $35 Million Renovation

FORT MYERS, Florida — The Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa recently completed a $35 million renovation, more than a year after Hurricane Ian brought destruction to Ft. Myers and Sanibel Island, Florida. The renovation included work event space, guest rooms and the on-site Spa at Sanibel Harbour.

Resort Renovation

Owned and managed by Columbia Sussex, the waterfront resort is set on 85 acres overlooking Sanibel and Captiva islands in Fort Myers’s Punta Rassa community.

This winter, the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa completed its resort-wide renovation. The 278 guest rooms and 69 suites, including three Elite Suites and two Presidential Parlors, have been renovated to reflect the new design philosophy. Renovations included new entryway tile, vanities, tiled-in showers, carpet, room paint and mural headboards. Each guest room features large-format windows with water or island views.

All six of the resort’s six restaurants were also renovated. The Courtside Steakhouse is an OpenTable 2023 Diner’s Choice Award Winner, and the resort is home to a wide variety of culinary traditions and innovative menus, ranging from classic steakhouse fare to tropical cocktail cabanas.

Event space renovations at Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa are also complete. The property offers more than 45,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, 13 event rooms and 24 breakout rooms accommodating up to 640 guests.

Spa at Sanibel Harbour

The 40,000-square-foot, full-service spa, salon and fitness complex features 28 treatment rooms and comprehensive spa treatments, co-ed spa experiences, full-day spa experiences and luxury skin-care product lines. The spa also offers a variety of wellness and fitness classes and recreation amenities, including eight new pickleball courts and three tennis courts, with open play and instructed lessons and clinics.

“We have been working diligently to redesign and rebuild our spa, which is an integral part of the Ft. Myers and Sanibel Island wellness communities,” said Bryanna Weldy, spa director. “We are excited to share all of the new offerings with residents through our membership program and to visitors and resort guests.”

The space boasts a modern luxe ambiance and a design theme inspired by the coast. The spaciousness of the spa provides a location for events and spa day getaways, and it encourages guests to incorporate wellness into their lives through treatments, skin-enhancing products, lounges, recreation and wellness classes.
