Planners looking for a destination with an array of venue types, all catering to meetings in the range of 8 to 800 attendees, and fun after-hours entertainment need look no further than McKinney, located just 30 miles north of Dallas. Whether historic, modern, or situated in a Croatian village, McKinney’s venues are designed to meet your needs and exceed your expectations.

Gather, a venue in downtown McKinney, mixes historic and modern.

McKinney’s largest meeting space, the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center, features 187 guest rooms and 20,000 square feet of meeting and break-out space. The property is located at the southern gateway to the city, making the Sheraton McKinney conveniently close to most city amenities and approximately five miles south of the city’s popular historic downtown square.

The city’s historic venues are plentiful, with the largest including three museum spaces including the quaint Chestnut Square Heritage Village with both indoor and outdoor spaces, a 100-plus year-old post office building that now houses the Collin County History Museum, the carriage house and garden at the stately Heard-Craig Center for the Arts, and the McKinney Performing Arts Center, a historic courthouse with multiple spaces including a board room, divided hall, intimate hall, basement gallery with limestone walls and vault door, and the 400-plus seat Courtroom Theater. Stand-alone downtown venues, like Gather in Downtown McKinney, The Flour Mill, and The Cotton Mill, have preserved the historic nature of their buildings, adding a quaint touch to events held there.

The Sanctuary, located in McKinney’s Croatian-inspired Adriatica Village, is a two-tiered performance/event hall equipped with a stage. Cobblestone walls, stained glass windows, and wood floors round out the venue’s elegant appearance. A private space located on the second floor is perfect for a small business meeting, hospitality suite, or other intimate event. The Sanctuary can accommodate up to 230 guests for a cocktail reception and 150-180 guests for a plated dinner.

When it comes to team building or after-hours entertainment options for your group, the sales and services team at Visit McKinney is ready to coordinate the perfect activity to fit your group’s needs and interests. Whether spending time in McKinney’s vibrant historic downtown at the vintage Arcade 92, taking part in a guided food tour, enjoying a night of stand-up or even a team-building exercise at The Comedy Arena, or rocking out to live music across town at the Hub 121 entertainment district, McKinney is ready to accommodate whatever interests your group. And the popular homegrown TUPPS Brewery’s new facility, which includes an entertainment venue and taproom adjacent to the Historic Downtown Square, will be open mid-2023 for public and private events as well as free time enjoyment.
