The Meadowbrook Inn, A Blue Ridge Beauty

At the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just a three-minute drive from the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway, sits one of the best-kept secrets of North Carolina’s Appalachian slope forest. The Meadowbrook Inn has long been the crowning jewel of the storybook town of Blowing Rock’s hospitality scene.

The Meadowbrook Inn boasts 62 nonsmoking rooms and suites equipped with amenities like gas fireplaces, complimentary high-speed wireless internet, whirlpool tubs for two, oversize decks and free private parking. Guests of the resort have easy access to the various hiking and biking trails within the densely treed forests of the Blue Ridge Mountains during summer and the nearby ski slopes during the winter months. The area offers a rich stock of day spas, boutique and outlet shopping, and a number of sights and activities that welcome families year-round, visitors and locals alike.

The lushly landscaped property is an excellent home base for countless mountainside adventures and is within walking distance of the best shopping and dining options along Blowing Rock’s downtown Main Street. The inn itself acts as a destination, as it is one of the premier meeting and events centers in the area.

Along with more than 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet space, the inn’s indoor pool, hot tub and complimentary hot breakfast offer meeting guests a comfortable place to retreat before and after events. The inn has seven dedicated indoor meeting spaces, and its tranquil grounds, which include a gazebo overlooking a brook, a pond and a waterfall, have been the backdrop for numerous weddings, photo shoots and outdoor events throughout the years.

Meeting Spaces

More than 10,000 square feet of meeting space at the Meadowbrook Inn is divided into a variety of indoor rooms and outdoor terraces. The Four Seasons Ballroom is the largest single event space on-site and can host up to 250 people for a range of event types, among them lectures, receptions and conferences. The upscale Blue Ridge Board Room is suitable for quiet meetings for up to 80 people and features a permanent projector screen. Other indoor spaces are the Highland Room, for up to 85 people; the Summit Room, for up to 70; the Lounge, for up to 40; and the River Room, for up to 75. Outdoor spaces are the Terrace, for up to 150 people; the Gazebo, for up to 40; and the Patio, for up to 40.

Catering

The award-winning culinary team at the Meadowbrook Inn has a long-standing reputation for delivering gastronomic excellence. Menus range from creatively presented snacks that are perfect to break up long meetings to plated luncheons that bring all the bridesmaids together, as well as classics like passed hors d’oeuvres and plated dinners. While the team can prepare any style of cuisine, some of its favorites are the tomato, basil and feta cheese quiche; grilled mini crab cakes with Cajun remoulade; and sliced roast tenderloin of beef. Premium and house spirits are available, along with great lists for wine and beer.

Included

In addition to offering a single point of contact during the entire planning process for each meeting or event, the Meadowbrook Inn also has a banquet team that assists on the day of the event by setting up, working with decorations, service during the event and after-event cleanup. The hotel also provides assistance arranging area tours and local entertainment options, assistance with audiovisual equipment and services, and assistance with satellite hotel accommodations if the need arises. Event guests can also enjoy free Wi-Fi and free parking during their time at the inn.

During the winter, the inn acts as the base camp for meeting groups looking to get in a little skiing, snowboarding, ice skating or snow tubing before or after meetings. The hotel is located near four ski mountains, and even in the summer the prime mountainside location offers guests lots to do on the slopes. The inn is within walking distance to a variety of charming boutiques, art galleries, antique stores and more, and many groups opt for an after-meeting outing at the nearby Tanger Outlet Mall. No trip to the inn would be complete without a visit to the Blowing Rock, North Carolina’s oldest travel attraction since 1933, and the hotel arranges experiences for groups to see the rock up close.
