ALPHARETTA, Georgia— Joe Browning has been named the new general manager of the Atrium Hospitality-managed Embassy Suites by Hilton East Peoria Riverfront Hotel and Conference Center in Illinois. With 22 years of hospitality experience, including in Illinois, Browning will be responsible for day-to-day leadership of the 226-key, all-suite hotel, which is directly linked to the largest conference center in East Peoria and overlooks the Illinois River.
The Embassy Suites by Hilton East Peoria Riverfront Hotel and Conference Center is located next to the East Peoria River Front Park and is five minutes from the historic downtown.
Alpharetta, Georgia-based Atrium Hospitality is one of the nation’s largest hotel operators. The company manages a portfolio of more than 80 hotels in 28 states and approximately 3 million square feet of event space.
Most recently, Browning was general manager of the 250-key Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville South Cool Springs. The Atrium-managed, all-suite hotel offers more than 24,000 square feet of event space and is located in the Cool Springs Corporate Centre office park in Franklin, Tennessee.
Browning’s hotel career journey with Atrium Hospitality also includes serving as general manager of the 237-key Embassy Suites by Hilton Montgomery Hotel and Conference Center in Alabama, which features 15,000 square feet of event space. Prior to joining Atrium in 2019, Browning worked in operations at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bloomington, Illinois, where he served as director of food and beverage and assistant general manager. While attending Southern Illinois University, Browning kicked off his hospitality career as a hotel banquet server. He is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA).
