OMAHA, Neb.  —  A recent $20 million renovation has garnered the DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha Downtown Hotel and Executive Meeting Center a number of awards, including “Most Improved Quality” for 2012 from Doubletree by Hilton and an improved-service award from its management company, Westmont Hospitality Group.

The 414-room hotel and its 30,000 square feet of conference space are across the street from the First National Bank and Union Pacific, and a short walk from the CenturyLink Convention Center.

Among the changes is a redesigned lobby and reception area that includes a new cybercafe that serves Starbucks coffee.

All guest rooms have been remodeled and redecorated, with a new earth-tones color scheme, new furnishings, updated bathrooms and new amenities, including 42-inch flat-screen televisions.

The hotel’s meeting space, which includes a 9,500-square-foot executive meeting center on the 19th floor, has also been remodeled and redecorated, and meeting services have been upgraded. Each room in the meeting center has panoramic views of downtown Omaha, tables with built-in power supplies and ergonomic chairs, laptop lockers and telephone rooms.

Among the hotel’s amenities are its Signatures restaurant, the City Center Pub, a fitness center and an indoor pool. Complimentary bicycles and helmets are available for guests who would like to tour downtown Omaha or ride across a pedestrian bridge to Iowa. In addition to complimentary rides to the airport, the hotel shuttle will take guests to the downtown business and Old Market Arts and Entertainment district, as well as to local attractions.
