The venue was designed to be sustainable and energy-efficient, and is built with local recycled materials. It is also among a handful of LEED-EB Silver Certified buildings in the Willamette Valley. 

A Place in Oregon History

SCC was built on the site of the hundred-year-old Marion Hotel, a premier downtown destination destroyed by a fire in 1971. The venue not only pays homage to Salem’s past, it has also helped revitalize Salem’s historic downtown.
